Bobst presents its latest technology and innovation in Lima

To provide an attractive view of the latest technologies and key trends that define the growth of the flexible packaging and label industry, the Bobst & Partners Roadshow 2017 arrived to Peru, event where the innovation developed by the Swiss manufacturer was the protagonist.

"For one day Bobst, along with our business partners, present the latest innovations in packaging and labeling machinery. The Bobst Group is in permanent contact with the market to report on global trends in machinery and other more specific industry topics”, said Eric Pavone, Business Director of the company's Web-Fed unit.

Bobst's global packaging market vision is projected in South America, “a market fragmented by the diverse reality of its countries, with small and medium-sized populations, unlike other commercial places like the United States; Mexico, with more than 120 million inhabitants; Europe; China; etc.”, said the executive.

In conversation with Plast Peru News, Pavone noted that Brazil is a large market, but with small growths in the consumption of packaging in the last three years due to economic difficulties.

“For its part, Colombia presents a good market and a very interesting qualitative public. In addition, Peru, Chile and Argentina are attractive places”, he said.

According to the interviewee, in the last two years the Peruvian market is an attractive market for its economic growth. Its most stable political reality in the region; And the demand for packaging used in agro-export, fruit, fish, etc. “In Peru there is good modern machinery, excellent productivity and quality of exportable products that are marketed with the packaging”, he said.

Regarding the quality of the packaging to be the silent salesman of the products it contains, Eric Pavone indicated that the “by its characteristics and forms, the packaging is an important and attractive element in the sale of the products”.
 

Market with future
Regarding the future of packaging, the specialist said that worldwide demand for cardboard and corrugated cardboard packaging grows at 1,5 % per year, while in flexible packaging growth is greater than 4% in the same period; therefore, “the strategy of the Bobst Group is to invest more in this last item and in the label by its important potential of growth”.

Finally, the manager highlighted the business partnership that exists between his represented and Distribuidora Multigráfica. “This is a long-standing business relationship with our Peruvian partner, made up of professionals and market experts. Distribuidora Multigráfica is also representing the new range of our products for the production of narrow band labels and flexible packaging”, he said.
