Apiplast Event: Innovative Chemical Solutions

With the participation of its associates, the Peruvian Association of the Plastic Industry (Apiplast) organized the working breakfast "Innovative solutions in chemicals", where the project of the same name was presented and whose objective was to provide technical assistance totally free to companies of the sector Plastic or prioritized services, manufacturers or industrial users of chemicals.

This assistance is realized through the implementation of a methodology called IAMC developed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which supports the project, to improve the innovative and sustainable management of chemical substances.

By developing the diagnosis and the innovative and sustainable management of chemical substances (free of charge), the beneficiary companies will be able to improve the management of chemical substances within their plants, which will help optimize their productivity and competitiveness.

In addition, they will reduce production costs through the more efficient use of chemicals and minimize hazardous waste, reduce the risks of exposure to chemicals of high concern and / or impacts to health and the environment, and comply with valid environmental regulations.

Advantages of the project
The project "Innovative solutions in chemicals" seeks to accelerate sustainable development, which has been carried out since 2013 in Egypt, Morocco, Colombia, El Salvador and Peru.

"The aim of this approach is to support manufacturers and industrial users of chemicals in the use of innovation to improve the sustainable management of chemicals, while optimizing their economic performance," said Nils Decker, an expert on UNIDO, noting that the project is aimed at producers or manufacturers, formulators and industrial users of the sector Plastic and other industries prioritized.

Among the advantages of participating in the project are free evaluation of innovation; the Institutional support through UNIDO international experts, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Center for Eco-Efficiency and Social Responsibility (CER) / GEA Group. The publication in the IAMC platform of successful cases as an example of good practice; and the possibility of supporting the implementation of innovations through environmental credit through CER / GEA Group.

The GEA Group is a non-profit organization, leader in innovation for sustainable development for more than 24 years. Its objective is to promote sustainable Peru through the design and implementation of local development proposals that value the environment and social capital.

By organizing this event, Apiplast strengthens its relationship with its associates by providing them with valuable information to optimize the productivity of their businesses, and renews its commitment to continue in this line of dissemination of knowledge to favor the sector.
